Oil paint on Fabriano paper, linen and Perspex provide three very different perspectives of three different sittings. The upstairs space of The City Screen provided a new and interesting backdrop for paintings which are concerned with engagement through portraiture, the presence of the sitter, how it affects the work and how portraiture may allow us to understand ourselves in the world. This series is largely material driven and the result of considered application and commitment to an act of mark making.
